How and why did you begin your career?
Angelisa: I used to be heavily influenced by snowboarding and was a semi professional snowboarder for a couple years and during that time, I attended Graphic Design school and started Feelin’ it Decals (formally known as Feelin’ it Graphics) shortly after. Specializing in print, vinyl die cuts and stickers for board shops, snowboard and ski brands and other snow related projects is how I got my business rolling. I must say though, that it wasn’t until I had my daughter that things really started to take off with Feelin’ it Decals. She is the reason why I have made the wall decal career move and have been enjoying it so much. After eight years with Feelin’ it, I truly feel like I have found my passion and desire to create designs for homes and spaces.
If you had to describe yourself in one sentence what would you say?
Angelisa: I would say that I am a dreamer, adventurist, artistic, very friendly and caring. (words from my husband)
Describe your business – what makes it unique?
Angelisa: Feelin’ it Decals is focussed on wall decal decor however, I do a lot of other graphic design as well. I would say that my designs is what makes Feelin’ it Decals unique.
Where did your business start out and what did you do to get it to where you are today?
Angelisa: Feelin’ it Decals started in Vancouver but is now based in Squamish, BC. It wasn’t until a year ago that I really pushed to get my website launched with new wall decal designs and attended many (thirty two ) markets and events in 2016 to get Feelin’ it Decals out there. There was a lot of blood, sweat and tears that went into the events that I worked at but it was all worth it.
What do you love most about what you do?
Angelisa: I love creating designs for homes. I would never consider my self as an interior designer but I have been enjoying coming up with designs and styling photo shoots.
Where do you see this business in 5 years?

Who inspires you?
Angelisa: Inspiration comes for everywhere for me. My daughter, husband, family, tribe of friends and the surroundings I put myself in.
Words to live by?
Angelisa: A quote that I live by; Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. – Emerson. This is something I struggle with on the daily but to be unique and different is to go where no one has before. Getting out of my comfort zone is scary but is the greatest feeling in the end.
What adversity have you faced in business?
Angelisa: The most difficult thing for me with my business is only having two days of day care. It really isn’t enough time to get work done. I work at 5 am before my daughter wakes up and also work during her nap / quiet time. I find it difficult to come up with new designs on time due to this but to spend the other days with her is all worth it to me.
What would you like to say to young women with similar career goals?
Angelisa: Words of wisdom to young women would be, to not give up, stop comparing your self to others or other companies. Focus on you and do not be afraid to think outside of the box and dip out of your comfort zone.
What is your best promotional tool?
Angelisa: My number one best promotional tool is social media and the second best would be the markets and events that I worked at.
Why do you love living and working from Squamish?
Angelisa: Squamish, BC is an inspiring place to live and work in. I get the view of the mountains, go for hikes and walks during my lunch break and constantly being surrounded my like minded people in the community is rewarding in itself.
